I'm kicking off 2015 with my very own weekly project. A lettering one. Not surprisingly. And it's super simple: one lettering piece a week for 52 weeks. Starting next week.

I've created a prompt for each week to provide inspiration for what I will be lettering.

If you'd like to follow along I'll be sharing my project here on the blog and on Instagram.

Better yet... let me know if you'd like to join in. It'll be a great way to get started with lettering, build your skills, and by the end of it you'll have a really nice body of work.

There's no right or wrong response to each prompt. Use them however they inspire you.

Feel free to use any tool/s of your choice - paint brush and ink or watercolour, brush marker, calligraphy nib, pen tablet...

Here is one suggestion though: if you're new to lettering, feel free to experiment with lots of different tools to see what you like the feel of. If you've been lettering for a little while I'd suggest picking one tool, sticking with it for the 52 weeks and getting really well acquainted with it.

Also feel free to ask any questions you might have about lettering as we go.

This project really isn't about creating masterpieces or comparing work. It's about committing to regular practice, showing your work, and connecting with each other through a love of lettering.
